Monday Genea-Pourri - Week Ending 8 September 2019

Here are the highlights of my family history and genealogy related activities over the past week:

1)  Attended the Chula Vista Genealogical Society (CVGS) Board Meeting and discussed the Research Group and Newsletter work plus the member survey.

2)  Wrote, edited and published the September 2019 CVGS Newsletter to the society members.

3)  Watched the Saturday DNA track livestream at the MyHeritage Live 2019 Conference in Amsterdam.  I need to watch the other streams too.

4)  Was a panelist on today's Mondays With Myrt, the first in several weeks.  The panel discussed Pat K's McCarry Ireland relatives, Dave's monthly newspaper genealogy article gig, Liv's photos. Graham's RootsTech London guide, Hillary's WikiTree source-a-thon, Gary's use of Scrivener to write research reports, the BCG webinars last Friday, the Family Tree Lite feature on FamilySearch, my Ancestry Quirk post, and the NGS/FGS merger.

5)  Wrote and posted a biography of 6th great-grandmother #505 Margriet (Weis) Potman (1726-after 1765) for my 52 Ancestors biographical sketch on Friday.  

6)  Transcribed another 1818 deed of  4th great-grandfather Nathan Gates selling land in Gardner, Massachusetts to John Miles for Amanuensis Monday.

7)  Added several more ancestral lines for AncestryDNA Matches to my RootsMagic tree.  Also added Notes to more of my AncestryDNA matches.

8) There were several sessions working in the RootsMagic software program to update FamilySearch Family Tree profiles for Seaver families and my ancestral families, with occasional additions to the RootsMagic profiles. I have matched 32,461 of my RootsMagic persons with FSFT.

9)  I continue to use Web Hints and Record Matches from Ancestry, MyHeritage, Findmypast and FamilySearch to add content and sources to my RootsMagic profiles.  I now have 54,615 persons in my RootsMagic file, and 109,096 source citations.   I TreeShared twice this week updating 332 profiles, and I resolved 1,156 Ancestry Hints.  I've fallen behind on the Ancestry Record Hints with 114,747 to be resolved, but I work on them weekly.

10) Wrote 20 Genea-Musings blog posts last week, of which two were a press release.  The most popular post last week was A First Look at RootsMagic 8 - Big Changes Ahead with over 325 views.
