RootsTech 2020 SLC Class Handouts Available on RootsTech Website

The RootsTech 2020 SLC class handouts are now available for review and download on the RootsTech Schedule website (  It is much easier to download the class handouts from the website than from the RootsTech mobile app.

The download process is:

1)  From the Schedule page (, note that the page has the full list of classes from Wednesday to Saturday.  Here is the top of the page:

The day, time, session title and session presenter(s) are listed in chronological order.  There are typically 12 to 15 classes in each time slot.  If the session has "$$" in the title, that means it is a paid workshop that requires registration and payment.

2)  I downloaded most of the Wednesday class handouts the other day, so I  scrolled down to the Thursday classes at 4:30 p.m.:

3)  I want to download the handout for Diahan Southard's class "A 5 Company Comparison of DNA Ethnicity Results."  I clicked on the class on the screen above:
The class description information is presented, along with the difficulty, the room, and the session number.

4)  Between the description and the difficulty is a link for "Syllabus."  That is the class handout.  I clicked on "Syllabus"  and saw:

On my computer, I can download or print the handout by clicking on the icons in the top right of the screen.  I want to Download the handout to my RootsTech 2020 SLC file folder.

5)  I clicked on "Download" and the Windows Explorer file for my Downloads folder and I selected the RootsTech 2020 SLC folder:

The RootsTech session number and some of the session title are in the File name field.  I added the presenter's last name to the file name and clicked on "Save."

6)  Voila, the file was saved.  All of that took less than ten seconds.

I still have the rest of Thursday and all of Friday and Saturday to download.  When I am done, I will move the entire RootsTech 2020 SLC file folder to my Genealogy Education file folder on my desktop computer, and copy it to Dropbox and Google Drive so I can access it on my laptop and smart phone.

NOTE:  The class handouts are not behind a pay wall.  Anyone can access them and save them.

DISCLOSURE:  I am a RootsTech Ambassador and have been for the past nine years.  I receive a complimentary four day registration to RootsTech 2020 SLC for publicizing and reporting on the conference.

Hi Randy
Thank you for the tip! I think it's going to work much better this way! Can I share this to my Genealogy Group?
