Sarah's father, John Davis, died intestate before 5 April 1703, when his estate was opened in Essex County Probate Court[5]. His widow, Sarah (Kirtland) Davis was appointed administratrix, and the probate file is composed of bonds, letters, inventories, accounts, and more but no distribution. Sarah (Kirtland) Davis died before 5 April 1729 in Lynn, and has only an inventory in her probate file in Essex County Probate Court files.
On 29 Mar 1707, Michael bought land in Lynn "near the burying place" for £66. In later records he is described as an "innkeeper"; it is assumed that his home was his place of business[2].
Michael and Sarah (Davis) Bowden systematically disposed of the other real estate that came to them. On 20 Oct 1729, Michael and Sarah Bowden sold their rights in the estate of her parents, John and Sarah (Kirtland) Davis; on 14 June 1732 they made a similar sale of rights in the estate of Mary (Davis) Langdon, sister of Sarah (Davis) Bowden. On 12 March 1734 they sold the Naragansett Lands granted to John Davis for military service, located in Sowhegan West (present township of Amherst, New Hampshire). Finally, on 12 Sept 1738, they confirmed the sale of a plantation located on the island of Nevis in the West Indies; this property was left to Sarah (Davis) Bowden by one of her uncles, one Ebenezer Kirtland[2].
Michael Bowden of Lynn died testate on 1 October 1741 in Lynn, Massachusetts, having written a will on 26 September 1741[6], which was proved on 12 October 1741 in Essex County Probate Court. It reads (in part):

Sarah (Davis) Bowden died on 1 September 1754 in Lynn, Massachusetts Bay[4,7] at age 78. She was buried in the Western Burial Ground in Lynn, but no gravestone is extant[4]. There are no probate records for Sarah in the Essex County Probate Court records
