4)  NOTES (with source citations as indicated in brackets):

Sarah --?-- was born in about 1659 to unknown parents.  She is named as the first wife of Jonathan Thurston in several references, including the book by Carl Boyer 3rd, Ancestral Lines, Third Edition[1], and the book Little Compton Families[2].  The Boyer book says:  "He married his wife Sarah in about 1678.  It has been suggested that she was a member of the Giles family, but Vinton's work has disclosed no foundation for this idea."

Many online family trees indicate that Jonathan Thurston married Sarah Guile (1657-1724) of Haverhill, Massachusetts.  However, that Sarah Guile is probably the woman who married Peter Pattee in 1682 in  Haverhill, had eight Pattee children,  and lived her full life in Haverhill.  The Jonathan Thurston family were Quakers who resided in Little Compton, Rhode Island.  There may be another Sarah Guile who was in Rhode Island in the 1660-1720 time frame, and she may be the first or second wife of Jonathan Thurston, but there are no records of her.

Sarah --?-- married to Jonathan Thurston in about 1678 as his first wife, probably in Little Compton, Rhode Island.  They had about fifteen children, all of whom were born and recorded in Little Compton records[1-2]:

*  Edward Thurston (1679-1739), married (1) 1706 Susanna Pearce (1688-1711); (2) 1712 Sarah Carr (1685-????).
*  Elizabeth Thurston (1682-1717), married 1703 Jonathan Wood (1680-1759).
*  Mary Thurston (1685-1740), married 1706 George Brownell (1682-1756).
*  Jonathan Thurston (1687-1749), married (1) 1722 Phrby Holmes (16094-2734); (2) 1734 Mehetable Claghorn (1708-1745).
*  Rebecca Thurston (1689-1735), married 1711 Edward Richmond (1689-1741).
*  Content Thurston (1691-????), married 1715 Henry Wood (1683-1758).
*  Sarah Thurston (1693-????), married 1712 Benjamin Sawdy (1689-1745).
*  John Thurston (1695-1735).
*  Eleanor Thurston (1696-????), married 1716 Peters (1690-????).
*  Hope Thurston (1698-1716).
*  Abigail Thurston (1700-1770), married 1729 William White (1708-b1780).
*  Patience Thurston (1702-????), married 1723 Thomas Southworth (1694-1735).
*  Amey Thurston (1705-????).
*  Peleg Thurston (1706-????).
*  Jeremiah Thurston (1710-????).

There are no death or burial records for Sarah --?-- Thurston, who died in about 1711, probably in Little Compton, Rhode Island after the birth of her 15th child in 32 years at about age 52. Jonathan married a second Sarah --?-- in about 1712 and had at least three more children by her.   It is not likely that Jonathan had just one wife named Sarah, since the last child born was in 1717, when a first Sarah would have been about 58 years old.

I think we share Jonathan Thurston as a common ancestor. FamilySearch has my Wells line going back to him. My line goes thru Edward.
