Seavers in the News -- Mrs. Violet Seaver Died in 1975 in El Paso, Texas

Here is this week's edition of "Seavers in the News" - a weekly feature from the historical newspapers about persons with the surname Seaver that are interesting, useful, mysterious, fun, macabre, or add information to my family tree database.

This week's entry is from the El Paso [Texas] Times newspaper dated 25 July 1975, page 39:

This obituary provides the name, age, residence, church affiliation, names of her husband and children, and funeral and burial information.  It does not provide birth date, parents, occupation, other associations, or cause of death.

Mary Violet Seaver (1888-1975) was born 6 December 1888 in Cheltenham, England, the daughter of Rev. William and Sarah (Parsonage) Seaver.  She died 22 July 1975 in El Paso, Texas.  She married Joseph Abbott Seaver (1889-1977) on 8 June 1920 in Pachuco de Soto, Hidalgo, Mexico.  He was the son of Jonathan Charles Billing Pockrich and Mary "Minnie" (Abbott) Seaver.  They had three children:

*  Rosemary Josephine Seaver (1920-2016), married 1944 Lloyd Randolph Pugh, Jr.
*  Jonathan William Whitchurch Seaver (1923-2006), married Isabella Mabel Brow Glenn (1923-2004).
*  Heather Irene Seaver (1925-1998), married Thompson Reynolds (1924-2001).

I am not related to either Joseph Abbott or Mary Violet (Seaver) Seaver, who both have Irish ancestry.  This is one of the most interesting Seaver families in my Seaver family research.

There are over 10,000 Seaver "stories" in my family tree - and this was one of them.   Life happens, accidentally and intentionally, and sometimes a person has a fascinating life history living in several countries.  I am glad that I can honor Mary Violet (Seaver) Seaver today.

You never know when a descendant or relative will find this blog post and learn something about their ancestors or relatives, or will provide more information about them to me.
