Lyle Carringer at Age 3 in San Diego -- (Not So) Wordless Wednesday #875

 I found another priceless (to me) photograph in my computer file folders:

This cabinet card photograph is of my maternal grandfather, Lyle Lawrence Carringer (1891-1976).  It was taken on 2 December 1894 (from the writing on the back of the photo) at a professional photographic studio - Klindt's (of Chicago?) Photo Studio at 657 Fifth Street in San Diego.  

Lyle was just age 3 when this photo was taken. Look at that beautiful full head of curly hair. I don't recall that he had curly hair when he was an adult - he usually kept it short but did not have male pattern baldness, and neither did his father. Perhaps this is where my brother's curly hair came from!

The outfit is interesting too. Is that a Little Lord Fauntleroy suit he has on, with a kilt? I think it is!

The rocking horse in the background is probably a prop at the photographers, but I'll be Lyle climbed on it and went to town riding on that pony.

This photograph is a part of my family history.  I enhanced and colorized it using the MyHeritage photo tools.  It really needs more sharpening and better coloring!
