Sophia (Newton) Hildreth in 1906 -- (Not So) Wordless Wednesday #889

 This is one of the priceless (to me) images in my computer file folders:

The image above was created by OpenAI ChatGPT5 received after I asked it to enlarge, sharpen, enhance and colorize the sepia image below (which I snipped from a larger photograph - it is only 5 kb in size - see the larger sepia photo here):

I also asked Google Gemini 2.5 Flash to enlarge, sharpen, enhance and colorize the sepia image, and received this image:

The person in these images is my 2nd great-grandmother, Sophia (Newton) Hildreth (1834-1923).  It was taken in about 1906 in front of the Hildreth/Seaver home in Leominster, Massachusetts.  This is the only image I have of Sophia (Newton) Hildreth.

Both of the AI generated images are realistic, but it is difficult to tell which is more accurate.  The ChatGPT5 image is more colorful and Sophia's face seems more true to the sepia image.  

This photograph is a part of my family history.
