Another Genealogy and Family History Song - "Tracing Our Roots"

I haven't had the AI tool Suno.com create a song based on AI-generated song lyrics for two weeks now, and I was feeling nostalgic and felt the urge to create more song lyrics to describe and celebrate my genealogy research journey.

I made a list of genealogy topics, and asked Anthropic Claude Sonnet 4.5 to write song lyrics.  Here they are:

                Tracing Our Roots

(Verse 1)
I found a box up in the attic, dusty and worn
Grandma's letters tied with ribbon, pages torn
Family photos fading yellow, faces I don't know
But something in their eyes tells me I need to let them show
Birth certificates and marriage records stacked so high
Death and life in documents, generations passing by

(Verse 2)
Census records tell me stories of the farms they used to keep
Land deeds and wills revealing secrets buried deep
Great-grandfather's military service, sailed across the sea
Immigration papers showing how they came to be free
Working hard from dawn to dusk, they built this legacy
Spouses, siblings, children growing like a family tree

(Chorus)
I'm tracing our roots, following the line
Through Ancestry.com and family trees I climb
From FamilySearch to MyHeritage too
DNA matches leading me to you
Every story, every name, every branch upon the tree
Is a part of who they were and who I'm meant to be
I'm tracing our roots back home

(Verse 3)
Cousins that I've never met are reaching out today
DNA connecting us in such a mysterious way
We share the same great-great-grandmother, worked the farming land
Now I'm writing ancestry books to help us understand
The struggles and the triumphs, the love that carried through
From their hands into our hearts, making old things new

(Bridge)
From the old country to the promised land
Through wars and hardship, they took their stand
Every generation fought to survive
So their memory could stay alive
In the pages that I write tonight
I'll keep their stories burning bright

(Verse 4)
Late nights scrolling records, piecing stories all in place
Finding proof of who they were, giving each a name and face
Marriage bonds and census lines, military rolls of honor
Every click and every search brings me closer to the corner
Where the past meets the present and the future yet to come
I'm writing down their journey so their songs won't be unsung

(Chorus)
I'm tracing our roots, following the line
Through Ancestry.com and family trees I climb
From FamilySearch to MyHeritage too
DNA matches leading me to you
Every story, every name, every branch upon the tree
Is a part of who they were and who I'm meant to be
I'm tracing our roots back home

(Outro)
So I'll keep searching, keep on writing every tale
Through the victories and losses, when they'd win and when they'd fail
For my children and their children, they will know from where they came
Every photo, every letter, every documented name
Our roots run deep, the branches grow
And now their legacy will show.

Here is the Suno.com song created from the lyrics with an upbeat melody in a male voice:

That was pure genealogy fun for me!  I hope you enjoyed it.
