Here are the highlights of my family history and genealogy related activities over the past week (ending Sunday, 26 April 2026).
1) Prepared for and went to the San Diego FamilySearch Center in Mission Valley with about 20 CVGS members. Captured about 120 images from a restricted digital file for Hilperton tax assessments from 1794 to 1830. Reviewed the files but have not written it up yet.
2) Curated genealogy-related articles to keep myself and my readers updated on the genealogy world in:
3) Transcribed a land record in Amanuensis Monday -- 1841 Deed of Ranslow and Mary Smith Selling Land in Henderson, Jefferson County, New York To Jesse Smith.
4) Researched and wrote a Genealogical Sketch of the Jeremiah McKnew (1804-????) and Frances Allethia Pickrell (1810-1845) Family of Maryland and District of Columbia.
5) Wrote one ABC Biography and one Life Memoir, and posted them on Genea-Musings and Substack:

7) Wrote an AI-assisted short story about my parents lives and romance on Genea-Musings and Substack:
8) Wrote an AI-assisted short story about my grandparents lives and romance on Genea-Musings and Substack:
9) Updated my Randy's AI and Genealogy page. Added a number of the recent Google NotebookLM Videos and Slide Shows to my YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/@RandySeaver.
10) Searched for more records of ancestral families on Ancestry, FamilySearch and MyHeritage, downloaded record images to my digital file folders, and added research notes, events and sources to RootsMagic profiles. My RootsMagic family tree now has 75,027 profiles (up 0 from last week) and 147,996 source citations (up 2).
11) My AncestryDNA test now has 51,679 DNA matches (up 83 from 19 April) with 2,191 "close" matches (20 cM or more) today (up 2), with no new ThruLines. Added Notes to no Matches, and added no new DNA match lines to RootsMagic. MyHeritageDNA test now has 14,400 DNA matches (up 19 from 19 April) for me. Linda's MyHeritageDNA test now has 16,437 DNA matches.
12) Wrote 22 Genea-Musings blog posts last week (Sunday through Saturday), of which two were a press release. The most viewed post last week was with Life Memoir of John Rich (1790-1868) in Hilperton, Wiltshire in 1867 over 6,737 views (Wow! Did someone recommend it?). Genea-Musings had about 754,000 page views last week and over 2,162,000 views over the past month (lots of bots I think).
13) Real life events: Visited Linda several days this past week at her memory care facility. Went to the grocery store on Monday and Friday. Went to my primary care physician for a yearly checkup. Still reading The Confession by John Grisham. Watched the Padres games - they were 3-2 this past week and are 18-9 on the season. Watched the NFL Draft on TV.
