Scores of genealogy and family history bloggers write hundreds of posts every week about their research, their families, and their interests. I appreciate each one of them and their efforts.
My criteria for "Best of ..." are pretty simple - I pick posts that advance knowledge about genealogy and family history, address current genealogy issues, provide personal family history, are funny or are poignant. I don't list posts destined for most daily blog prompts or meme submissions (but I do include summaries of them), or my own posts.
Here are my picks for great reads from the genealogy blogs for this past week:
* A Plain-English Guide to Ancestry’s 2026 Ancestral Regions Update: Part 1 by Yvonne Fenster on Family Locket.
* The Hale-Elzie Family: Weighing Oral Tradition Against Documentary Evidence by Marie Cooke Beckman on MarieB's Genealogy Blog - Southeastern USA.
* All About the Ancestry 2026 DNA Update by Mercedes Brons on Who Are You Made Of?
* The McDowell Bible: Saved from Oblivion – 52 Ancestors #487 and FOCUS Step 2: Finding the Y-DNA and Mitochondrial DNA of Your Ancestors by Roberta Estes on DNAeXplained - Genetic Genealogy.
