Scores of genealogy and family history bloggers write hundreds of posts every week about their research, their families, and their interests. I appreciate each one of them and their efforts.
My criteria for "Best of ..." are pretty simple - I pick posts that advance knowledge about genealogy and family history, address current genealogy issues, provide personal family history, are funny or are poignant. I don't list posts destined for most daily blog prompts or meme submissions (but I do include summaries of them), or my own posts.
Here are my picks for great reads from the genealogy blogs for this past week:
* Testing ChatGPT Deep Research for Genealogy: Can It Create a Professional Locality Guide? by Diane Henriks on Know Who Wears the Genes In Your Family.
* What Wasn't Written about Daniel's "Consort," Mildred by Marian B. Wood on Climbing My Family Tree.
* Inside Genealogy’s United States Checklist by Rick Crume by Linda Stufflebean on Empty Branches on the Family Tree.
* Rain Man by Jeff Record on The Last Aha...
* Will Genealogy Survive AI? by James Tanner on Genealogy's Star.
* Meet Ancestria: Coni’s Muse Ancestria by Coni Dubois on 'Ever Widening Circle.'
* A Little Planning. A Better RootsTech by Natalie Webb on Family Tree Technology.
