Scores of genealogy and family history bloggers write hundreds of posts every week about their research, their families, and their interests. I appreciate each one of them and their efforts.
My criteria for "Best of ..." are pretty simple - I pick posts that advance knowledge about genealogy and family history, address current genealogy issues, provide personal family history, are funny or are poignant. I don't list posts destined for most daily blog prompts or meme submissions (but I do include summaries of them), or my own posts.
Here are my picks for great reads from the genealogy blogs for this past week:
* Downloading a Descendancy Tree from FamilySearch to a Word Table or Excel Spreadsheet by Danite Zanre on Mission: Genealogy.
* Introducing GAIA -- A Real AI Research Agent from MyHeritage and Can AI fix the FamilySearch.org Family Tree? by James Tanner on Genealogy's Star.
* RootsMagic Source Templates and From Historical Scrapbook to AI Storytelling by Marcia Crawford Philbrick on Heartland Genealogy.
* Yes, You Can Read a Foreign Genealogy Record by DiAnn Iamarino Ohama on Fortify Your Family Tree.
* Testing MyHeritage GAIA: Can AI Help With My Genealogy Brick Wall? by Doris Kenney on A Tree With No Name.
* Your Family Tree Has Secrets: Let AI Help You Find Them by Natalie Webb on Family Tree Technology.
* As The Records Unfold: 1607-1626 by K.K. Badgerow on KKB Genealogy.
* Who Wrote It Down, and When? Reading a Family Bible Like Evidence by N.P. Maling on Sea Genes Family History & Genealogy Research.
* Brick Wall Wednesday — Mary Parker (1820–1901): The Woman Her Own Death Certificate Couldn’t Name by Coni Dubois on Ever Widening Circle.
* Not a serious genealogist… by Teresa Basinska Eckford on Writing My Past.
* Your Family Tree Tells a Story. Does it Make Sense? by Jacqi Stevens on A Family Tapestry.
* Trying Out Research Like a Pro with AI Genealogy Workbook, Part 5 by Linda Stuffebean on Empty Branch on the Family Tree.
