Family Roots Radio

Have you been listening to Family Roots Radio on the Internet? Either live, from their archives, or via a podcast? Every session has been excellent. The live broadcast is at 4 PM ET/1 PM PT on Thursday.

Kory Meyerink hosts each hour-long program, and does a fine job. The program features Kory's live interview of a guest for 30 to 40 minutes. Today's guest was Dick Eastman ( who talked a lot about Web 2.0 technology applied to genealogy, genealogy software and other topics.

Last week, Leland Meitzler, editor of Everton's Genealogical Helper magazine and a premier genea-blogger at, was the guest. He discussed keeping up with genealogy news and blogging. He credited his readers and bloggers for providing many of the tips he publishes on his blog and in his magazine. In the blogging discussion with Kory, Leland kindly mentioned my name and Genea-Musings and inferred that I must blog 24 hours a day (not quite, but usually 2 or 3!). Kory also mentioned that I had a nice long list of other genealogy bloggers.

I noticed a flurry of activity coming from Leland's blog last week, and now I know why! My thanks to Leland and Kory for the plug.

Are you listening to Family Roots Radio? It is very well done, and I look forward to it every week. I don't always hear it live, but the archives work fine and you can download them to your computer or iPod for listening at your leisure.
