FamilySearch.org has a collection of over 1 million images of San Francisco County Records, 1824-1997. The description of the records notes:
"Records from San Francisco County, California including an alphabetical newspaper clipping file of the "San Francisco Examiner," death reports, general index, indexes to deeds, deeds, indexes to marriage certificates, marriage licenses, indexes to naturalizations, naturalization records, coroner's records, and alien registrations. This collection is being published as images become available."

There is a lot of information in these records - if you have San Francisco ancestry (as my wife does), you will want to search these databases.
The records are not digitally indexed - these are "Browse Only" records, meaning you have to click an image at a time, which takes more time than scrolling through microfilm. On the other hand, you can access these records at any time and at no cost.
