(Not So) Wordless Wednesday - Post 263: The Night Before the Best Day of My Life

I'm posting family photographs from my collection on Wednesdays, but they aren't Wordless Wednesday posts like others do - I am incapable of having a wordless post.

Here is a photograph from the Seaver/Carringer family photograph collection passed to me by my mother, or taken by Linda or me in the 1970s:

This is a picture of my mother (Betty Virginia (Carringer) Seaver (1919-2002) and myself taken on Friday, 20 March 1970, at the wedding rehearsal dinner at my grandparents (Lyle and Emily (Auble) Carringer) home at 825 Harbor View Place in San Diego.

My mother is dressed impeccably (as always!), and beaming, probably laughing at something extremely witty that I said.  I look like I'm half smashed, while pondering the immediate future - the biggest and best day of my short, and heretofore uneventful, life.  I think we had just had dinner (Mom is lifting her fork, but my plate is absolutely polished...maybe I was just drinking champagne?).  I honestly don't remember this event 43 years later!

Randy, I may not know you or your mother, but I know that look. It is the loving look of a mother who is very proud of her son, is remembering many happy moments in their lives, and is thinking of the lifetime of happiness to come. Undoubtedly, that was a very special night for her as well.

I love the title of this post. You have been blessed!
