There is also a web page for Database News (which highlights new databases) at  You can use the highlighted dates on the calendar to see earlier or later new or updated databases.

NEHGS continues to add to their list of online periodical issues with complete page images.  These collections are searchable by name, date, location, etc.  If you have New England ancestry, these periodicals may have information on your ancestors.

There is a wealth of online resources on the website if you are an NEHGS subscriber.

If you're not a subscriber, there are some free databases listed at

The real "gem" in the list of free databases is the Essex County, Mass: Probate File Papers, 1638-1840 collection.  If you had ancestors who left an estate in that time period, then you should be using that free database.
