Best of the Genea-Blogs - 25 June to 1 July 2017

Hundreds of genealogy and family history bloggers write thousands of posts every week about their research, their families, and their interests. I appreciate each one of them and their efforts.

My criteria for "Best of ..." are pretty simple - I pick posts that advance knowledge about genealogy and family history, address current genealogy issues, provide personal family history, are funny or are poignant. I don't list posts destined for daily blog prompts or meme submissions (but I do include summaries of them), or my own posts.

Here are my picks for great reads from the genealogy blogs for this past week:

*  No More FHL Microfilm? Myrt's Take by Pat Richley-Erickson on the DearMYRTLE Genealogy Blog.

*  Readers’ Questions – Answering YOUR Burning Genealogy Questions by Lisa Lisson on the Are You My Cousin? blog.

*  No Image Available -- Maybe There is One -- Part 2! by Mary Kircher Roddy on the Searching for Stories blog.

*  The End of FamilySearch Microfilm Loans: What It Means for You by Amy Johnson Crow on the Amy Johnson Crow blog.

*  GRIP, Take 4 by Amanda E. Perrine on Amanda's Athenaeum blog.

*  World Building by Lynn Palermo on The Family History Writing Studio blog.

*  No More Microfilm Ordering From FamilySearch by Lorine McGinnis Schulze on the Olive Tree Genealogy Blog.

*  10 things I learned at the OGS conference in Ottawa #OGSConf2017 by Gail Dever on the Genealogy a la Carte blog.

*  50 Essential Websites For My Genealogy Research by Linda Stufflebean on the Empty Branches on the Family Tree blog.

*  The Archive Lady: Preserving the Family Bible by Melissa Barker on Thomas MacEntee's Abundant Genealogy blog.

Did I miss a great genealogy blog post? Tell me! I am currently reading posts from over 1600 genealogy bloggers using Feedly, but I still miss quite a few it seems.

Thanks, Randy, for your link to Marcia Philbrick's post about Ancestry's limits on citation lengths -- and the mysterious way that the profile page expresses the problem.
