1706 Marriage of William Whitney and Martha Peirce in Weston, Mass. - Post #372 of Treasure Chest Thursday

The treasure today is the  1706 marriage record of William Whitney (1683-1720) and Martha Peirce (1683-1759) in Weston, Massachusetts:

The transcription of this record is:

"William Whitney, son of Nathaniel Sen., b. 1683, mar. Martha Peirce, May 17,
1706.  He was taxed in Weston as early as 1708, and d. there June 24, 1720,
leaving five ch., William, Judith, Amity, Martha, and Samuel.  The last 
moved to Westminster, Mass."

William Whitney was born 6 May 1683 in Watertown, Massachusetts to Nathaniel and Sarah (Hagar) Whitney.  Martha Peirce was born on 24 December 1681 in Watertown, the daughter of Joseph and Martha (--?--) Peirce.  They married on 17 May 1706 in Watertown, Mass., and are also recorded in the Weston vital record book  They had five children between 1707 and 1719, including Samuel Whitney (1719-1782) who married Abigail Fletcher (1720-1783) in 1741 in Weston, Massachusetts.

William and Martha (Peirce) Whitney are my 6th great-grandparents.
