Best of the Genea-Blogs - 18 to 24 March 2018

Dozens of genealogy and family history bloggers write thousands of posts every week about their research, their families, and their interests. I appreciate each one of them and their efforts.

My criteria for "Best of ..." are pretty simple - I pick posts that advance knowledge about genealogy and family history, address current genealogy issues, provide personal family history, are funny or are poignant. I don't list posts destined for daily blog prompts or meme submissions (but I do include summaries of them), or my own posts.

Here are my picks for great reads from the genealogy blogs for this past week:

*  Comparing BMD indexes for England and Wales: Ancestry by Audrey Collins on The Family Recorder blog.

Digging Deeper in FamilySearch Records by Elizabeth O'Neal on the My Descendant's Ancestors blog.

How I Solved It: Death Investigation: Was It a Railroad Accident? by Vanessa Wieland on the RootsFinder blog.

The Ten Best Genealogy Websites for Beginners by Will Moneymaker on the blog.

This is Your Life DD Carol! by Kitty Cooper on Kitty Cooper's Blog

So, You Took a DNA Test? by the author of the Genealogy Dribs and Drabs blog.

Finding Cemetery Records in an Archive by Melissa Baker on the A Genealogist in the Archives blog.

Accessibility by Alicia Crane Williams on the Vita Brevis blog.

*  Family Research Leads to MLB Family Connection by Carla on the Redbud Genealogist blog.

Ancestry DNA -- Compiled Family Trees by Marcia Philbrick on the Heartland Genealogy blog.

Aiming for the Gold Standard by Linda Stufflebean on the Empty Branches on the Family Tree blog.

Footnotes, Endnotes, Sources, Citations, and Attachments: What Works, What Doesn't by James Tanner on the Genealogy's Star blog.

Did I miss a great genealogy blog post? Tell me! I am currently reading posts from over 900 genealogy bloggers using Feedly, but I still miss quite a few it seems.
