Saturday Night Genealogy Fun - What Genealogy Resource Are You Thankful For?

Hey genea-folks,
it's Saturday Night again,

 time for more Genealogy Fun!

Your mission, should you decide to accept it, is:

1)  What Genealogy Resource are you thankful for?  Is it an organization, software, websites, repositories, persons, or something else?

2)  Tell us in your own blog post, in a comment on this blog post, or on Facebook.  Please drop a link in a comment to this post so that every reader can read about your resource.

Here's mine:

I am very thankful for FamilySearch.  Why am I thankful for FamilySearch?  The reasons are many:

*  The volume of collected records and books is breath-taking.  FamilySearch collected hundreds of thousands of books, created millions of microfilms from repository records, and now has digitized billions of records -- all available in the Family History Library, in FamilySearch Centers, and online at FamilySearch.org.  Over 30 years, I have found these resources to be most helpful in my research journey.

*  The FamilySearch Research Wiki is awesome.  When I want to know something about any genealogy subject, or resources in a country/state/county, I start at the Wiki.

*  The FamilySearch Family Tree is fantastic, with almost one billion profiles.  It is constantly improving.  I have over half of my profiles matched to persons in the Family Tree.  The Family Tree has been enriched by my contributions, and has contributed much information to my RootsMagic database.

*  FamilySearch bankrolls, promotes and manages the RootsTech Conference each winter in Salt Lake City.  This is the premier genealogy conference with the largest attendance, number of classes, and exhibitors.

*  FamilySearch is a FREE resource for everyone in genealogy, with opportunities for any person to contribute with records, books, indexing, and more.

*  Thank you, FamilySearch, for all you have done and continue to do for this industry.

Happy Thanksgiving, to all of my Genea-Musings readers.

I love FamilySearch, too. I wrote about my love of newspapers.
