Jacob Fitz Randolph was born 23 March 1708 in Woodbridge, New Jersey, the son of Samuel and Mary (Jones) Fitz Randolph[1-3].

Jacob Fitz Randolph probably lived most of his married life in Blazing Star, New Jersey, which is now called Carteret, a borough to the north of Woodbridge and south of the Rahway River.

The name of the first wife of Jacob Fitz Randolph is unknown.  She was born in about 1710, and died in about 1764.  She is probably the mother of all his children, all born in Blazing Star, New Jersey[1-3].

*  Samuel Fitz Randolph (1730-???), married 1750 to Martha Gach (1730-????)
*  Isaac Fitz Randolph (1731-1768), married 1753 to Catherine Hoff (1735-????).
*  Reuben Fitz Randolph (1733-1784), married 1754 to Elizabeth Moores (1734-1817).
*  Jacob Fitz Randolph (1737-before 1779), married before 1760 to Abigail --?-- (1737-1779).
*  Jotham Fitz Randolph (1740-1782)
*  Joseph Fitz Randolph (1743-1782), married 1772 Abigail Ludlam (1747-????).
*  Mary Fitz Randolph (1745-1784), married 1760 to Gabriel Compton (1735-1784).
*  Johannah Fitz Randolph (1747-????), married 1769 to Jacob Thorne (1734-1786).
*  Elizabeth Fitz Randolph (1749-????),. married to Samuel Moore (1751-????).

Jacob's second wife was almost certainly his much-married cousin, Mary (Fitz Randolph) (Thorne) (Fitz Randolph) (Horseman) Jackson, daughter of Edward and Katherine (Hartshorne) Fitz Randolph, as her fifth husband.  They married at Woodbridge in about 1764, and had no children[1-3].

Jacob Fitz Randolph died before 9 August 1779 when his inventory was taken by his son, James Fitz Randolph and Joseph D'Camp[1-4].

The abstract of the will of Jacob Fitz Randolph is in Volume XXXV of the New Jersey Calendar of Wills[4].  The abstract says:
