"ThruLines, MyTreeTags and New & Improved DNA Matches came out of beta and we’re so excited to officially welcome these innovations to our family of discovery tools! We’d like to thank our dedicated community for their thoughtful feedback which helped us deliver these features. Look for continued enhancements as we continue to listen to you and community feedback.
"Visit our new release page for more details."
So I did:
The Learn More" link takes you to a 1:21 YouTube video explaining ThruLines.
Further down the page:
Each section on the page briefly explains the three new features (ThruLines, New & Improved DNA Matches, and MyTreeTags), which are now out of beta development, and the fourth feature is still in development (New Ancestry Messaging).
Note also that the DNA Circles and Shared Ancestor features previously on the AncestryDNA page have been retired.
I will show some of the revised AncestryDNA page and the changes to ThruLines in another post.
I am happy that AncestryDNA continues to develop their autosomal DNA matching product. I expect further development over the coming years. One thing I would like to see is the entire Note posted for DNA matches on the DNA Matches page - they permit 512 characters in the field, but only show you 64 characters.
=============================================
Disclosure: I have had a paid subscription to Ancestry.com since 2000, and use the site every day. I have received material considerations from Ancestry.com in years past, including the autosomal DNA test, but that does not affect my objectivity in writing about their products and services.
