The speaker for both sessions is Julianne DeWalt Adamik, who will present:
** Session 1 (10 a.m.): Starting at the Very Beginning - Genetic Genealogy for the Beginner
** Session 2 (11:30 a.m.): Using DNA as a Supplement to Traditional Genealogy research
There will be a refreshment break between the presentations, with all attendees asked to provide cookies or pastries that reflect their national origins or heritage.
The 9 a.m. education hour will feature two classes in the upstairs classrooms:
** Presenters Gloria Osborn and Kay Swenningsen
This class will help familiarize you with the operations and procedures at the Family History Center in Salt Lake City. It will detail the layout of the building, how to find records, and what levels of assistance are available .
Presenter Diane Gould Hall
Ancestry is one of the most popular genealogy websites containing billions of historical records. This class will take you through the basic features which help you search for your family ancestors. We will show you how to create your own family tree and search for common ancestors in the trees of other Ancestry members.
There is limited seating for these classes, and an RSVP is required to sdgsclasses@gmail.com for a spot if you plan to attend.
