Treasure Chest Thursday -- 1711 Marriage Record of Thomas Allen and Sarah Grande in Wayland, Mass.

It's Treasure Chest Thursday - a chance to look in my digital image files to see what treasures I can find for my family history and genealogy musings.

The treasure today is the 1711 marriage record of Thomas Allen and Sarah Grande in the Wayland, Massachusetts town record book:

The marriage record for Thomas Allen and Sarah Grande is  on the right-hand page:

This record says:

"Thomas Allen & Sarah Grande were joyned in marrige June ye 27'th .....1711""

The source citation for this record is:

"Massachusetts, Town and Vital Records, 1620-1988," indexed database and digital image, Ancestry.com (https://www.ancestry.com), Wayland "Births, Marriages and Deaths," page 197, Thomas Allen and Sarah Grande marriage entry, image 101 of 1050.

This Wayland town record is a Derivative Source (because it is obviously a transcription of an earlier record) with Primary Information and Direct Evidence of the names of Thomas Allen and Sarah Grande and the marriage date and place.  The Original Source is a town record book birth register that is no longer available.  This is still Primary Information and Direct Evidence for the names and birth event.

Thomas Allen (1690-1777) was the son of Benjamin and Frances (Rice) Allen.  He married Sarah Grande (1691-1723) on 27 June 1711.  Sarah Grande parents are uncertain.

Thomas and Sarah (Grande) Allen are my 7th great-grandparents, through their daughter Sarah Allen (1717-1796) who married Jeremiah Knowlton (1713-1752) in 1735 in Sudbury, Massachusetts.
