Treasure Chest Thursday -- 1692 Death Record for Peter Dill (1645-1692) of Chelmsford, Mass.

It's Treasure Chest Tuesday - a chance to look in my digital image files to see what treasures I can find for my family history and genealogy musings.

The treasure today is the 1692 death record of Peter Dill in the Chelmsford, Massachusetts town record book:

The Peter Dill death record is the 7th from the top on the right-hand page:

The transcription of this record is:

"Dill    Peter Dill Dyed August the :13: 1692"

The source citation for this record is:

"Massachusetts, Town and Vital Records, 1620-1988," indexed database and digital image, Ancestry.com (https://www.ancestry.com : accessed 3 June 2020), "Chelmsford Town and Land Records, with Births, Marriages and Deaths," page 345 (image 190 of 230), Peter Dill death entry, 13 August 1692.

This is probably a Derivative Source record for the death of Peter Dill.  The Original source was probably an earlier town record book that had contemporaneous entries.  It is Primary Information and Direct Evidence of the death date, place, and the name of Peter.

Peter Dill (1645-1692) is my 7th great-grandfather whose parentage is not known  He married Thanks Shepard (1651-1733) in 1669, and they had 7 children.  I am descended through their son, Thomas Dill (1682-1718).
