It's Treasure Chest Thursday - a chance to look in my digital image files to see what treasures I can find for my family history and genealogy musings.
The treasure today is the marriage entry entry for Nathan Brigham and Dinah Rice in 1717 in the Marlborough, Massachusetts vital record book:The marriage entry is the fifth from the top of the page:The transcription of this record is:
"[BRIGHAM] Nathan [Jr., C.R.] and Dina Rice, Dec. 24, 1717."
"[BRIGHAM] Nathan [Jr., C.R.] and Dina Rice, Dec. 24, 1717."
The source citation for this record is:
Franklin P. Rice (editor), Vital Records of Marlborough, Massachusetts, to the End of the Year 1849 (Boston, Mass. : Franklin P. Rice ,1908), Marriages, page 232, Nathan Brigham and Dina Rice marriage entry, 1717.
This is an abstract from an original town record book for Marlborough, Massachusetts, so it is a Derivative Source with Primary Information and Direct Evidence of the marriage of Nathan Brigham and Dinah Rice.
Dinah Rice (1693-1725) was the daughter of Edmund and Ruth (Parker) Rice of Marlborough. Nathan Brigham (1693-1784) was the eldest son of Nathan and Elizabeth (Maynard) Brigham of Marlborough.
Nathan and Dinah (Rice) Brigham are my 6th great-grandparents, through their son Moses Brigham (1723-1769) who married Mehitable Grout (1726-1795) in 1749.
