Treasure Chest Thursday -- 1690 Marriage of Joseph Keyes and Joanna Cleaveland in Chelmsford, Mass.

It's Treasure Chest Thursday - a chance to look in my digital image files to see what treasures I can find for my family history and genealogy musings.

The treasure today is the 1690 marriage entry for Joseph Keyes and Joanna Cleaveland  in the Chelmsford, Massachusetts town record book:

The marriage entry is the second from the bottom on the left-hand page:

The birth record transcription is:

"Joseph Keyes and Joanna Cleaveland entred into a Covenant of Marriage May the 28: 1690."

The source citation for this record is:

"Massachusetts, Town and Vital Records, 1620-1988," indexed database and digital image, Ancestry.com (https://www.ancestry.com), Chelmsford, Town and Land Records, with Births, Marriages and deaths, page 30 (penned) (image 37 of 230), Joseph Keyes and Joanna Cleaveland marriage entry, 28 May 1690.

This is an entry in a  copied (?) town record book for Chelmsford, Massachusetts, so it is a Derivative Source with Primary Information and Direct Evidence of the marriage of Joseph Keyes and Joanna Cleaveland.

Joseph Keyes (1667-1757) was the son of Solomon and Frances (Grant) Keyes of Chelmsford, Mass.  Joanna Cleaveland (1670-1758) was the daughter of Moses and Ann (Winn) Cleaveland of Woburn, Mass.

Joseph Keyes and Joanna Cleaveland are my 7th great-grandparents, through their son Joseph Keyes (1698-1744) who married Elizabeth Fletcher (1698-1775) on 28 February 1719/20 in Chelmsford, Massachusetts.
