Treasure Chest Thursday -- 1649 Birth of Joseph Grout (1649-1720) in Sudbury, Massachusetts

It's Treasure Chest Thursday - a chance to look in my digital image files to see what treasures I can find for my family history and genealogy musings.

The treasure today is the Birth entry for Joseph Grout in Sudbury, Massachusetts Bay Colony in 1649 in the Sudbury Vital Records book:

The birth entry is  in the middle of the page:

The transcription of this record is:

"[GROUT,] Josepth, s. John and Sarath Grout, July 24, 16[49]  M.R.

The source citation for this record is:

Vital Records of Sudbury, Massachusetts to the year 1850 (Boston, Mass. : New England Historic Genealogical Society, 1903), page 61, Josepth Grout birth entry, 24 July 1649.

This is an entry in a digitized published book for births, marriages and deaths in Sudbury, Massachusetts, which was derived from town record books and other records.  It is a Derivative Source with Secondary Information and Direct Evidence of the Birth of Joseph Grout.
This record is for the birth of Joseph Grout to John and Sarah Grout in Sudbury.  Other children were born to John and Sarah Grout from 1646 to 1665 Joseph Grout was the son of John Grout (1609-16987) and his second wife, Sarah Busby (1619-1699) of Sudbury, Massachusetts.  Joseph Grout married Susannah Hagar (1653-1731) in 1680 in Watertown, Massachusetts Bay.

Joseph and Susanna (Hagar) Grout  are my 7th great-grandparents, through their Son Joseph Grout (1683-1758) who married Mary Harrington (1693-1774)  in 1717.
