Ruth married Edmund Rice (1663-1726) on 15 November 1692 in Roxbury, Massachusetts Bay Colony as his first wife[1,3].  They resided in Marlborough, Massachusetts, and had 12 children, all born and recorded in Marlborough vital records[1].

During Queen Anne's War, three of Edmund and Ruth (Parker) Rice's children were captured in an Iroquois Indian raid on 8 August 1704 in Marlborough[1].  Their 5 year old son, Nahor, was killed. Two other sons, Silas aged 9 years old and Timothy almost 7 years old were taken to Quebec with other captives.  Silas married an Indian wife; by 1900 he had 1350 living descendants, and died in Canada in 1779 having lost his ability to speak his mother tongue.  Timothy became a chief of the Caughnawa tribe.  He visited Westborough in 1740 and died in Canada in 1777.

Ruth died before 1720, since Edmund married, secondly, Hannah Brewer on 23 June 1720 in Sudbury, Massachusetts Bay Colony.  There is no death or burial record for Ruth (Parker) Rice.
