Seavers in the News -- Mrs. Muesette Seaver Dies in 1966 in Buncombe County, North Carolina

Here is this week's edition of "Seavers in the News" - a weekly feature from the historical newspapers about persons with the surname Seaver that are interesting, useful, mysterious, fun, macabre, or add information to my family tree database.

This week's entry is from the Asheville (N.C.) Citizen-Times newspaper dated 13 November 1966, page 3:

The transcription of the article is:

"Mrs. Muesette Seaver," Asheville (N.C.) Citizen-Times newspaper, Tuesday, 15 November 1966, page 3, column 5, Mrs. Muesette Seaver obituary; Newspapers.com   (https://www.newspapers.com : accessed 19 July 2022).

This obituary identifies her birth place, death date and place,  children's names, and limited association information.

Mary Musette Hollabaugh (1874-1966) was born 13 May 1874 in Washington county, Pennsylvania, the daughter of John Francis and Fanny (Rogers) Hollobaugh.  She married Lewis Mead Seaver (1848-1911) on 21 January 1904 in Williamstown, Vermont, as his second wife.  He was the son of Ebenezer and Sophronia (Jillson) Seaver.  She died 14 November 1966 in Black Mountain, North Carolina.  They had three children:

*  Harrison Mead Seaver (1906-1970), married 1927 Ora Vera Agnes Little (1906-1994).
*  Esther Holly Seaver (1908-1984), married 1933 Aldo Gina Franceschi (1907-1997).
*  Rebecca Rosette Seaver (1909-1960), married 1932 Lorenzo Munro Grandy (1907-1964).

Lewis Mead Seaver (1848-1911) is a 6th cousin 4 times removed of mine.  Our common Seaver ancestor is Robert Seaver (1608-1683) of Roxbury, Massachusetts.

There are over 10,000 Seaver "stories" in my family tree - and this was one of them.   Life happens, accidentally and intentionally, and sometimes a person has a fairly sparse obituary.  I am glad that I can honor Muesette  (Hollabaugh) Seaver today.

You never know when a descendant or relative will find this blog post and learn something about their ancestors or relatives, or will provide more information about them to me.
