4)  NOTES (with source citations as indicated in brackets):

Elizabeth Mott was born 9 August 1659 in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, the daughter of Adam and Mary (Lott) Mott[1].

She married, firstly, on 14 May 1679 in Newport Rhode Island to William Ricketson (1649-1692)[2].  They had six children, all recorded in Dartmouth, Massachusetts:

*  Rebecca Ricketson (1681-1751), married 1704 John Russell (1679-1767).
*  John Ricketson (1683-1704).
*  Elizabeth Ricketson (1684-1732), married 1705 Daniel Wood (1645-1718).
*  William Ricketson (1686-1730), married 1708 Meribah Slocum (1689-1769).
*  Jonathan Ricketson (1688-1768), married 1710 Abigail Howland (1686-1769).
*  Timothy Ricketson (1689-1711).

William Ricketson wrote his will on 29 February 1691/2, which is in Bristol County Estate File 21574 in the Bristol County  Probate Court papers[3].  His wife Elizabeth was named as executor of the estate. He died 1 March 1691/2 in Dartmouth, Massachusetts.

In his will he gave equal shares of his real and personal property to his four sons (all minors), and a lot of meadow land in Dartmouth to his wife Elizabeth.  Elizabeth was granted liberty to sell property if the needs of her family required it.  After William died, the probate process was dormant until 1707, when all but sons Jonathan and Timothy had reached age 21.

On 7 May 1707, Matthew Wing (second husband of Elizabeth (Ricketson) Wing), Daniel Wood and John Russell (sons-in-law of William and Elizabeth Ricketson) posted a 500 pound bond and were directed to provide an inventory. An inventory was taken on 31 May 1707 by Joseph Tripp, Deliverance Smith and George Cadman.  It totaled 367 pounds, 17 shillings, of which real property consisting of lands, housing and orchard was valued at 25 pounds.

Matthew and Elizabeth Wing were appointed administrators of the estate of William Ricketson on 7 May 1707 by the Bristol County Probate Court judge.  Matthew was ordered to provide an account by 10 May 1708[3].

Elizabeth married, secondly, to Mathew Wing (1673-1724) on 4 September 1696 in Dartmouth, Massachusetts[5-6]. He was age 23 and she was age 37.  They had three children:

*  Joseph Wing (1697-1778), married 1717 Catherine Cornell (1699-after 1778).
*  Benjamin Wing (1698-1782), married 1722 Content Tucker (1695-1739).
*  Abigail Wing (1701-1792), married 1726 David Durfee (1700-1788).

Matthew Wing died testate, having written a will on 8 January 1723, which was proved in the Bristol County Probate Court on 21 July 1724, recorded on 8 August 1724[4].  It is recorded in Bristol County Probate Court estate file 28978.  His sons Joseph and Benjamin Wing were named as executors.

In his will, Matthew bequeathed to his wife Elizabeth:
" I Give Elizebeth my Dearly Beloved wife the Improvement of all my home stead, and the Best Roome in my house Dureing the Time of her Life, and that my Two Sons Shall Find her fire wood Brought to her Dore Dureing the Time of her Life - also I do Give to my wife Two Cowes to be att her Dispose and also the Improvement of all my house hould Goods Dureing her Life."
The death date and burial location of Elizabeth (Mott) (Ricketson) Wing are not known.
