Genealogy Pot-Pourri - Week Ending 18 July 2022

Here are the highlights of my family history and genealogy related activities over the past week.

1)  Attended the Chula Vista Genealogical Society DNA Interest Group meeting on Wednesday on Zoom with about 34 attendees.  Colin Whitney presented "Finding Common Ancestors from your DNA Matches."

2)  Attended the San Diego Genealogical Society British Isles Interest Group meeting on Zoom on Saturday.  Colin Whitney presented "The Non-Conformist Registers."

3)  Published a genealogy biography for the 52 Ancestors series for 7th great-grandfather  #708 Matthew Wing (1673-1724) of Sandwich and Dartmouth, Massachusetts.

4) Transcribed a probate record document - 1802 Will of Anna Seaver (1759-1802) of Cambridge, Massachusetts - for the Amanuensis Monday series.

5) AncestryDNA now has 40,472 DNA matches (up 35 from 11 July) for me today, with no new ThruLines. MyHeritageDNA now has 10,546 DNA matches (up 14 from 11 July) for me, with no new Theories.  Reviewed the new DNA matches on AncestryDNA, MyHeritageDNA, FamilyTreeDNA and 23andMe.  Added notes to 8 AncestryDNA matches.

6)  There was one session working in the RootsMagic software program to match with and update FamilySearch Family Tree profiles for Seaver families and my ancestral families, with occasional additions to the RootsMagic profiles. I have matched 48,158 of my RootsMagic persons with FamilySearch Family Tree profiles (up 21).

7) Used Web Hints and Record Matches from Ancestry, MyHeritage, Findmypast and FamilySearch to add content and source citations to my RootsMagic profiles. I now have 69,754 persons in my RootsMagic file (up 30 from 11 July), and 145,179 source citations (up 25). I TreeShared 22 new or modified profiles with my Ancestry Member Tree, and I resolved 343  Ancestry Hints. My current Ancestry Member Tree has Ancestry Record Hints with 24,942 to be resolved, but I work on them several times a week.

8) Wrote 13 Genea-Musings blog posts last week (Sunday through Saturday), of which two were a press release. The most viewed post last week was
Best of the Genea-Blogs - Week of 3 to 9 July 2022 with over 254 views.

9)  This is week 123 since COVID restrictions.  My recovery from heart surgery is ongoing, and I have one more cardiologist appointment.  Linda is at a memory care and skilled nursing facility in Chula Vista 7 miles from home and I visited her four times last week.  I went shopping on Monday and Thursday.  I am still really tired every day, take at least two naps each day, and try to walk for 30 minutes every day on the block.   I was told to get off the desktop computer and spend more time in my recliner to get my feet off the ground.  I watched the Padres games every day  and we are now 52-42 on the season (3-4 last week).
