Best of the Genea-Blogs - Week of 22 to 28 January 2023

Scores of genealogy and family history bloggers write hundreds of posts every week about their research, their families, and their interests. I appreciate each one of them and their efforts.

My criteria for "Best of ..." are pretty simple - I pick posts that advance knowledge about genealogy and family history, address current genealogy issues, provide personal family history, are funny or are poignant. I don't list posts destined for daily blog prompts or meme submissions (but I do include summaries of them), or my own posts.

Here are my picks for great reads from the genealogy blogs for this past week:

*  Ethical Dilemmas and How To Approach Them by Paul Chiddicks on The Chiddicks Family Tree.

 *  Where to Find Genealogy and Family History Books and Library of Congress Genealogy Collections by Kenneth Marks on The Ancestor Hunt.

*  Top 5 Irish Genealogy Websites by Diane Henriks on Know Who Wears The Genes In Your Family: Family History and Genealogy.

*  A Major Family Tree Change to Fix an Ongoing Problem by DiAnn Iamarino on Fortify Your Family Tree.

*  Why Do-Over? by Marcia Philbrick on Heartland Genealogy.

*  The 3 Genealogy Mistakes You Have to Tame to Improve Your Skills by Jennifer Dondero on The Occasional Genealogist.

The Irish: Endogam-ish by Heidi Mathis on Family Locket.

*  Irish Family History: Online Resources to Help Find Your Irish Ancestors by Jessica Taylor on Legacy Tree Genealogists.

ThruLines Suggests Potential Ancestors – How Accurate Are They? by Roberta Estes on DNAeXplained - Genetic Genealogy.

*  New: Download and Share Your MyHeritage Ethnicity Estimate as a Video by Erica on MyHeritage Blog.

*  What is Genealogy? by Mercedes Brons on Who Are You Made Of?

*  How a Deed Can Build Your Family Tree by Denys Allen on PAAncestors.

*  The Questions You Wished You’d Asked: Writing Challenge by Kelly Wheaton on Wheaton Wood.

*  Genealogy Organization Disappointments by Lori Samuelson on Genealogy At Heart.

Here are pick posts by other geneabloggers this week:

*  Friday's Family History Finds by Linda Stufflebean on Empty Branches on the Family Tree.

*  Friday Fossicking 27th Jan 2023 by Crissouli on That Moment In Time.

This Week's Creme de la Creme - January 28, 2023  by Gail Dever on Genealogy a la Carte.

Readers are encouraged to go to the blogs listed above and  read their articles, and add the blogs to your Favorites, Feedly, another RSS feed, or email if you like what you read. Please make a comment to them also - all bloggers appreciate feedback on what they write.

Did I miss a great genealogy blog post? Tell me! I currently am reading posts from over 900 genealogy bloggers using Feedly, but I still miss quite a few it seems.
