Treasure Chest Thursday -- 1650 Birth Record of John Remington (1650-1688) in Rowley, Massachusetts

I looked in my digital image files to see what treasures I can find for my family history and genealogy musings for Treasure Chest Thursday.

The treasure today is the birth record of John Remington in Rowley, Massachusetts:

The birth record is the first one for 1650 at the bottom of the left-hand page:

The transcription of this marriage record is:

"John Remington Son of John and Abigaill born
the first month ye twentieth day."

The source citation for this marriage record is:

Massachusetts, U.S., Town and Vital Records, 1620-1988," indexed database and digital images, Ancestry.com (https://www.ancestry.com), Rowley > Births, Marriages, and Deaths, image 165 of 1804, John Remington birth, son of John and Abigaill, 20 March 1650; citing original data from Massachusetts town and city clerk records in Jay and Delene Holbrook, Massachusetts Vital and Town Records (Provo, Utah : Holbrook Research Institute), Microfiche collection.

This record is an Original Source, with Primary Information and Direct Evidence of the birth of John Remington.

John Remington (1650-1688) was born 20 March 1650 in Rowley, Massachusetts, the son of John and Abigail (Acie) Remington.  He married Abigail Richmond (1656-1744) in about 1679 in Newport, Rhode Island.  They had four children.

John and Abigail (Richmond) Remington are my 8th great-grandparents. I am descended through their daughter, Elizabeth Remington (1686-1747), who married John Kenyon (1682-1735) in1704 in South Kingstown, Rhode Island.
