"Volney J. Seaver
"Volney J. Seaver, 72, 325 Park Ave., Urbana, died in his residence Tuesday at 6:28 p.m.
"He was born March 29, 1908, in Proctorville, Vt., the son of Charles H. and Minnie B. Stafford.
"He came to Urbana as a funeral home director and embalmer with the Gardner Funeral Home in 1936. In later years, he owned and operated Seaver's Market on S. Main Street. He was a member of the Champaign Lodge 525, Urbana and Alladin Shrine of Valley of Columbus and Scottish Rite of Columbus.
"He is survived by his wife, Darlene Westfal Seaver; oe son, Volney Gerald, Roland Heights, Calif.; one granddaughter, Madeline Seaver of Roland Heights, Calif.; his mother of Seal Beach, Calif. and two cousins of Springfield, Vt.
"Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Walter Funeral Home with the Rev. Frank Summerfield officiating. Burial will be in Woodstock Cemetery. Friends may call 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home."
