Discover Heredis 2026 For Windows, MacOS, iOS and Android

I received this information from Heredis today:

                                       ==================================

We are pleased to announce the release of Heredis 2026 for Windows and macOS and Heredis 2026 for iOS and Android!

Bring your family history to life in a whole new way: thanks to the new 2026 features, your Heredis software is packed with new functionality to fill in the gaps in your past and even rethink how you pass on your family heritage.

We would also like to thank you for your loyalty, because without you, Heredis' 31 years of existence (since 1994!) would not have been possible!

And many of you have already upgraded your software to Heredis 2026, so…
THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts !

Personal and Family Timelines

Why you’re going to love them!

  • The new personal and family timelines help you better understand family ties, historical periods, and life paths. You can follow the lifelines of your ancestors and the key events they experienced.
  • They also highlight specific patterns in your tree—for example, all ancestors who had the same occupation—by combining timelines with the Smart Search. You can then showcase your findings on a blog or any other platform thanks to PNG exports.
  • Timelines can also reveal things you might never have noticed before: detect blind spots in your research and refine your genealogical strategy.

The Historical Facts Index

  • *  This index shows what was happening in USA and around the world during your ancestors’ lifetimes. You can add your own historical events related to their country or region of origin, such as local wars or epidemics, and even assign a location to them.

  • *  Share them with a cousin or fellow genealogist working on the same regions or family lines.

The History Panel

This brand-new panel lets you keep these historical facts visible at all times on your screen, so you can better situate an event, double-check a date, or enrich a person’s record without losing your train of thought.

Multiple Parents

In the "Parents" tab, you can now enter and distinguish between:

👶 Biological parents (shown by default when opening a file converted to version 2026)
🫶 Adoptive parents
🔁 Blended families
🤝 Other emotional or educational connections (stepparents, foster parents, etc.)

Multiple Surnames

You can now enter and manage multiple surnames.

For example, a child bearing both the father’s and mother’s surnames, like “John/Martinez”, will be correctly linked to their lineage without creating a new compound name in your database. Only “John” and “Martinez” will be counted—making your base cleaner and more accurate.

Access to the Genealogy Societies Portal

From the Online Archives tool, you now have direct access to a portal of genealogy societies in USA and around the world.

Easily find a society near you, attend events, connect with other enthusiasts... and move forward together.
