Tuesday's Tip: Check Out Missouri Records on FamilySearch.org

This week;'s Tuesday's Tip is:  Check out the Missouri record collections on FamilySearch.org.

Missouri is one of those states that many migrants passed through or settled in, so I'm very interested in the online resources available for the state, several counties, and the towns where my ancestors resided.

The Missouri page on the FamilySearch Research Wiki discusses the history of the state, lists the counties, and the state resources available.

By clicking on the light green button titled "Missouri Online Records" the reader can see all of the Online Records available on many genealogy websites:

There are 12 record collections for Missouri in the FamilySearch Record Collections at present (type "missouri" in the search field at the top of the left-hand frame as shown below):

The 12 record collections for Missouri include:

The collections with "Browse images" are not indexed, but they are waypointed into sections such as County, record type, volume number, etc.  In general, these collections were digitized from microfilm images. 

As always, check the list of historical record collections occasionally to see if more record collections have been added or updated.
