This week's treasure is the 1732 baptism record of Anna Van Vorst in Schenectady, New York, born to Jacobus and Johanna (Beck) Van Vorst:

The baptism record for Anna Van Vorst:

The extracted information from this record is:

*  Baptism Date:  day 22 [October 1732]

*  Parent's names:  Jacobus Van Vorst, Johanna Bek

*  Child's name:  Anna [Van Vorst]

*  Sponsors:  Abraham Mebi, Anna Vedders

The source citation for this record is:

"U.S. Dutch Reformed Church Records from Selected States, 1639-1989," digital images, Ancestry.com (http://www.ancestry.com), New York > Schenectady > Schenectady Baptisms, Vol. 1, Book 41, Page 10 (penned, image 79 of 163), Anna Van Vorst baptism entry, 22 October 1732; citing original data in "Dutch Reformed Church Records from New York and New Jersey." Holland Society of New York, New York, New York

Anna Van Vorst was the third child of Jacobus and Anna (Beck) Van Vorst, who married in 1728 in Schenectady.  Baptism records for seven of their nine children are in the Schenectady Dutch church records.

Anna Van Vorst (1732-1789) and John Kemp (1723-1795) were married in about 1761 in Schenectady, and are my 5th great-grandparents.  I am descended through their son John Kemp (1768-1861).

Hi Randy,
Shouldn't it be indicated somewhere in the citation (or perhaps a discussion of the citation) that this is an image of a transcript. Even then, we don't know whether it is a transcript of the original or a transcript of a transcript ....
