Saturday Night Genealogy Fun -- The Homes I've Lived In

It's Saturday Night,
time for more Genealogy Fun!!

For this week's mission (should you decide to accept it), I challenge you to:

1)  Read Linda Stufflebean's blog post, "Homes In Which I've Lived" on her Empty Branches on the Family Tree blog.

2)  This week, please list the homes in which that you have resided (not just visited) from your birth until the present.

3)  Share your list in your own blog post, in a comment on this post, or on Facebook or Google+.  Please provide a link to your list as a comment to this post.

Here's mine:

*  577 Twin Oaks Avenue, Chula Vista, Calif.  This was the first home of my parents, and I spent the first year of my life in this house, a rental.

*  2130 Fern Street, San Diego, Calif.  When my father went into the U.S. Navy in 1944, my mother and I moved into her parents' (Lyle and Emily (Auble) Carringer) home.

*  2114 Fern Street, San Diego, Calif.  When my father returned in early 1946, we moved to the apartment next door, also owned by my mother's parents.  My brother, Stanley, came home to this apartment.  We rented.

*  2119 30th Street, San Diego, Calif.   In 1947, we moved to the other side of the block into the upstairs apartment at 2119.  My grandparents now lived in the apartment below at 2115 30th.  We rented.  I lived here all through my elementary, junior high, high school and college years.

*  4640 Idaho Street, San Diego, Calif.  In mid-1966, I had graduated from college and had a job and rented an apartment in North Park.  This lasted less than a year.

*  2119 30th Street, San Diego, Calif.  In mid-1967, I got laid off at work and moved back with my parents.

*  1099 Turquoise Street, San Diego, Calif.   In early 1968, I was employed again and moved out to Pacific Beach with my buddy, John, into an apartment.

*  4410 Oregon Street, San Diego, Calif.  The apartment with John didn't work out well, so in the winter of 1968 I moved into a small apartment at the rear of 4408 Oregon Street.

*  540 C Street, Chula Vista, Calif.  I married Linda in March 1970, and our first home together was a first floor apartment in Chula Vista with a pool.

*  755 Coleman Court, San Diego, Calif.  We bought our first home in April 1972 in the Otay Mesa neighborhood in south San Diego.  This was the first home for our first daughter, Lori.

*  1154 Via Trieste, Chula Vista, Calif.  We sold the Coleman Court house and moved into a four bedroom home in Chula Vista at the end of a cul-de-sac in April 1975.  This was daughter Lori's second home and daughter Tami's first home.  We are still here!

So I've resided in 11 residences in my life to date.

I think I have a list of most of mine Randy. Now, whether I can get them into a blog post, that's another story.

I have lived in three places in New York City (but two different apartments in one of those buildings), a family home in upstate NY, an apartment in Easton PA, a house in Reading PA, a house in Copley OH and a house in Akron OH. I have pictures of all except for the one in Easton PA. I am trying to gather pictures of where my children have lived because it is hard sometimes to get back to where you once lived.

I am surprised you spent your entire life living in California Randy. I thought I read in the past on your posts you started out on the east coast and moved west as a child.

Howland, you have lived in Ohio also! I live in Ohio now and also lived in it as a child.

I think I have been around to everyone that has posted and left a comment. I enjoyed this weeks challenge.

Coming late to the assignment. Here is mine. I've lived in only 5 locations, the last for 37 years.

I know it is now Sunday and if I get to write a post it will be Monday here before it is up. I have lived in 13 different places that I recall I will have to check the full address of some of them. The lengths of stay vary from weeks to almost 24 years.
