Betty and Her Dad in the Woods -- Post 311 for (Not So) Wordless Wednesday

I am posting family photographs from my collection on Wednesdays, but they aren't "Wordless" - I am incapable of having a wordless post!

Here is a photograph from my grandfather's photo album in the Seaver/Carringer family collection handed down by my mother in the 1988 to 2002 time period:

This photograph is of Betty Virginia Carringer, born in 1919, being held by her father, Lyle Lawrence Carringer (1891-1976).  It was taken in about 1920 in a wooded setting, perhaps in Alpine or Descanso (in the mountains east of San Diego) where friends of the Carringers had cabins.

My guess is that Betty was not walking yet because she has bare legs, while Lyle has his trouser legs tucked inside his long stockings (presumably to prevent ticks from getting on his bare legs in the brush).
