Innovator Showdown is Friday at RootsTech 2015

The Four finalists for the Innovator Challenge awards were announced by FamilySearch.  They are:

*  Planet GmbH:  Planet's magic full search engine is called ArgusSearch, and is based on a brand-new artificial intelligence technology (pending patent) and Planet's outstanding award winning handwriting recognition technology.  Users are able to find matches for any arbitrary search request  from billions of ancient documents within seconds.  The submission page is http://bit.ly/rt15icas.

*  GenMarketplace.com LLC:  GenMarketplace takes tasks in finding details on ancestors and breaks them into "jobs."  Jobs may take resources above the user's ability in order to complete.  Users can post their "jobs" on the GenMarketplace free of charge and people with expertise and ability can claim a job.  Although posting a job is free the cost to complete the job is determined by the marketplace using the Dutch auction pricing system.  The submission page is at http://bit.ly/rt15icgm

*  Lucid Software, Inc.:  Quickly create digital family history documents for viewing on a computer, tablet, or smartphone.  Free yourself from the bounds of the printed page with scrolling areas, and enchant your audience with videos, galleries, and interactivity.  The submission page is at http://bit.ly/rt15iclp

*  StoryWorth, Inc.:  Each week, we mail our storytellers a question about their life.  All they have to do is reply with a story, either by email or by phone.  We save their story on www.storyworth.com, and privately share it with their family members.  The submission page is at http://bit.ly/rt15icsw

On Friday morning (10:30 AM Mountain Time) in Hall D, the four finalists will present their ideas in 5 minutes and respond to questions from a panel of five renowned judges.  The judges will pick their 3 favorites and award the winners from $3,000 to $10,000.  In addition, the audience will get to choose their favorite finalist through text voting on the spot.  Their selection will win a People's Choice Award of $5,000.  Attendees in the keynote hall and those watching live at RootsTech.org will also determine through text voting which finalist walks away with the grand prize.
