This week's Tuesday's Tip is: AmericanAncestors.org provides access to two historical newspaper collections - 19th Century U.S. Newspapers and Early American Newspapers, 1690-1876.
From the www.AmericanAncestors.org home page, the "External Collections" are accessed on the "Databases" tab:
At present, there are four "External Collections" - they are:
1) 19th Century U.S. Newspapers
2) Early American Newspapers, Series I, 1690-1876
3) Marquis Biographies Online
4) American Jewish Historical Society, New England Archives Digital Archive
These four databases can be accessed from home by NEHGS members (3 screens shown below, some overlap)
I try to use the two historical newspaper databases for my northeastern U.S. ancestor searches. They are one of the most useful benefits of my NEHGS membership.
