Best of the Genea-Blogs - 18 to 24 February 2018

Dozens of genealogy and family history bloggers write thousands of posts every week about their research, their families, and their interests. I appreciate each one of them and their efforts.

My criteria for "Best of ..." are pretty simple - I pick posts that advance knowledge about genealogy and family history, address current genealogy issues, provide personal family history, are funny or are poignant. I don't list posts destined for daily blog prompts or meme submissions (but I do include summaries of them), or my own posts.

Here are my picks for great reads from the genealogy blogs for this past week:

*   Chronicling the Ups AND the Downs in Family History by Marian B. Wood on the Climbing My Family Tree blog.

Where's the Original? by Michele Lewis on the Legacy News blog.

SUCCESS:  Emigrant Savings Bank - Ann Neenan Rowan by Debby Anderson on Debby's Family Genealogy Blog.

What To Do About PERSI by Larry Naukum on The In-Depth Genealogist blog.

The Fallacy of Writing Your Family History by Amy Johnson Crow on the Amy Johnson Crow blog.

Children, Technology and Family Stories = Magic by Rachel Trotter on the Evalogue Life - Tell Your Story blog.

The Tale of Two Williams and the Importance of Genealogical Evidence by Sharn White on the FamilyHistory4u blog.

Did I miss a great genealogy blog post? Tell me! I am currently reading posts from over 900 genealogy bloggers using Feedly, but I still miss quite a few it seems.

Thanks for including my two blog posts about the Revolutionary War traitor, Ebenezer Richardson. It was a lot of fun to research Ebenezer, and even more fun sharing his story with everyone!

Thank-you Randy for the mention of my post about the Emigrant Savings Bank! So much to learn about record collections.
