Best of the Genea-Blogs - 20 to 26 January 2019

Dozens of genealogy and family history bloggers write thousands of posts every week about their research, their families, and their interests. I appreciate each one of them and their efforts.

My criteria for "Best of ..." are pretty simple - I pick posts that advance knowledge about genealogy and family history, address current genealogy issues, provide personal family history, are funny or are poignant. I don't list posts destined for daily blog prompts or meme submissions (but I do include summaries of them), or my own posts.

Here are my picks for great reads from the genealogy blogs for this past week:

“Can DNA Help Me Find My Biological Family?” on the Legacy Tree Genealogists blog.

How They Do It: Lisa Alzo by Janine Adams on the Organize Your Family History blog.

First, the Back Story; The Setting; The Players; The Possibilities;   by Jacqi Stevens on A Family Tapestry blog.

*  Four Favourite Sources for Researching English Ancestors in the Early Twentieth Century by Janet Few on The In-Depth Genealogist blog.

*  Caution: Invisible Fathers and Autosomal Matching – Who’s Hiding in Your DNA? by Roberta Estes on the DNAeXplained - Genetic Genealogy blog.

Genealogy Blog as Cousin Bait by Marian B. Wood on the Climbing My Family Tree blog.

*  FamilySearch Junk A Reminder to Save When You Find by Michael John Neill on the Rootdig blog.

Did Your Ancestors Break the Mold? by DiAnn Iamarino on the Fortify Your Family Tree blog.

*  The 2018 International Genetic Genealogy Conference – Day Two Reviewed by Rachel King on the Toll Genealogy blog.

*  Has a Citizenship Question Always Appeared on the US Census? by Thomas MacEntee on the Abundant Genealogy blog.

Here are pick posts by other geneabloggers this week:

*  Friday's Family History Finds by Linda Stufflebean on the Empty Branches on the Family Tree blog.

*  Friday Finds: Week 4 --2019 by Martin Roe Eidhammer on the Norwegian Genealogy and then some blog.

*  Friday Fossicking - 25th Jan 2019 by Crissouli on the That Moment in Time blog.

This Week's Creme de la Creme -- January 26, 2019  by Gail Dever on the Genealogy a la Carte blog.

Readers are encouraged to go to the blogs listed above and read their articles, and add their blogs to your Favorites, Feedly, another RSS feed, or email if you like what you read. Please make a comment to them also - all bloggers appreciate feedback on what they write.

Did I miss a great genealogy blog post? Tell me! I am currently reading posts from over 900 genealogy bloggers using Feedly, but I still miss quite a few it seems.
