Saturday Night Genealogy Fun -- What Should Genea-Santa Bring You?

Calling all Genea-Musings Fans:

 It's Saturday Night again -

time for some more Genealogy Fun!!

Here is your assignment, should you decide to accept it (you ARE reading this, so I assume that you really want to play along - cue the Mission Impossible music!):

1)  Only 25 Days until Christmas now!  Have you been a good genea-boy or genea-girl?

2)  What gift should Genea-Santa bring you for Christmas?  What do you need, or want, to help you with your family history, your research, etc.?

3)  Tell us in your own blog post, in a comment to this blog post, or on Facebook. Please leave a comment with a link to your blog post.

Here's mine:

I've been a very good genea-boy, but I've been a little naughty in a fun way at times.  I haven't done as much with my files and my photos, and haven't written the genealogy books I want to write.   I support my local genealogy societies with teaching, presentations, editing the newsletter.  I try to inform the genealogy community with my blog, on Facebook, and on Mondays With Myrt, but I could do better.

Dear Genea-Santa - I could use these gifts to help me do my genealogy work?

*  I need another FOREVER box to digitize and convert to MPegs about 20 more 8 mm 50-foot movies from my grandparents, my parents, and my family.  I need to find my videotapes that I cleverly hid several years ago.  I need to look at the slides from the 1970s to see if I need to digitize some or all of them.  I also need to buy a storage plan from Forever, and get my daughters access to the site.

*  A new desktop computer would be nice...my Dell is now 10 years old, and is full, and is slow.  I fear it will crash sometime soon.  I need a large hard drive for all of the digital files that I have.

*  A new cell phone would be nice too - my iPhone 5 is five years old, doesn't hold a battery charge very long, and is full of apps that I use only occasionally.  I use it for phone calls, messages, Siri, maps, email, Facebook, reading blogs on Feedly, and the like.  I spend less than 30 minutes a day on the phone.  However, I don't use the genealogy apps very much - I have too many ancestors and relatives in my tree.

What do you want from Genea-Santa?  Ho ho ho!

Randy.. I know you don't do this to be financially rewarded but how about putting something like https://www.buymeacoffee.com/ Buy me a coffee (or patreon https://www.patreon.com/) tip jar on the blog so we could thank you with a few bucks. You help so many of us that it would be nice if we could put in towards that forever box. Consider it!
thanks, Nancy
