Here are the highlights of my family history and genealogy related activities over the past week:
1) Attended the Chula Vista Genealogical Society Board Meeting on Wednesday, and reported on the Research Group, DNA interest Group and Newsletter activities. Wrote, edited, and published the December 2019 edition of the Newsletter with information about coming events, past events, upcoming webinars, genealogy news, and more.
2) Participated in Mondays With Myrt today. The panel discussed the Mayflower celebration programs in Devon, England; the 100th anniversary of Norway repealing a law that limited poor women's voting rights; the recover efforts of Irish archival records lost in 1922; my Italian record search, Russ's Family Tree Maker talk in Philadelphia; Elizabeth Shown Mills' article on source citations; my citation of the Italian record; and calendar changes in 1582, 1752 and 1917.
3) Watched one Family Tree Webinar video - Buried Treasure: What's in the English Parish Chest? by Paul Milner.
4) Wrote and posted a biographical sketch of 7th great-grandfather #518 Samuel Willis (1675-1758) for my 52 Ancestors biographical sketch on Friday.
5) Transcribed a 1788 deed of 5th great-grandfather Simon Gates selling land in Gardner, Massachusetts to Ephraim Pratt for Amanuensis Monday.
6) Found several more Italian records from my grandsons' ancestry - this time in Lavagna, Genova, Italy.
7) There were several sessions working in the RootsMagic software program to match with and update FamilySearch Family Tree profiles for Seaver families and my ancestral families, with occasional additions to the RootsMagic profiles. I have matched 33,745 of my RootsMagic persons with FSFT.
9) Used Web Hints and Record Matches from Ancestry, MyHeritage, Findmypast and FamilySearch to add content and sources to my RootsMagic profiles. I now have 55,517 persons in my RootsMagic file, and 112,911 source citations. I TreeShared twice this week updating 185 profiles, and I resolved 527 Ancestry Hints. I've fallen behind on the Ancestry Record Hints with 121,858 to be resolved, but I work on them weekly.
9) Ran a new Genetic Affairs clustering for AncestryDNA, and added more Notes to my AncestryDNA matches.
10) Uploaded a GEDCOM file to GeneaNet and tried out their free fan chart maker for my grandkids.
11) Wrote 17 Genea-Musings blog posts last week, of which two were press releases. The most popular post last week was 52 Ancestors - Week 307: #518 Samuel Willis 1675-1758) of Sudbury, Massachusetts with over 313 views.
