Dozens of genealogy and family history bloggers write thousands of posts every week about their research, their families, and their interests. I appreciate each one of them and their efforts.
My criteria for "Best of ..." are pretty simple - I pick posts that advance knowledge about genealogy and family history, address current genealogy issues, provide personal family history, are funny or are poignant. I don't list posts destined for daily blog prompts or meme submissions (but I do include summaries of them), or my own posts.
Here are my picks for great reads from the genealogy blogs for this past week:
* Genealogy Shelter In Place Project #4 and Project #5 by Nancy Loe on Sassy Jane Genealogy.
* Quarantined Kids and Family History by Meagan E.H. Siekman on Vita Brevis.
* Should We Celebrate Genetic Ethnicity? by Dave Dowell on Dr. D. Digs Up Ancestors.
* 9 Great Genealogy Resources To Take Your Family History Further by Esther on MyHeritage Blog.
* Preserving A Lock of Hair by Melissa Barker on A Genealogist in the Archives.
* Triangulation in Action at DNAPainter by Roberta Estes on DNAeXplained - Genetic Genealogy.
* Where is British Colonial America? Can we standardize place names? by James Tanner on Genealogy's Star.
* Genealogy Research in the 21st Century Part 3: Collaboration and Personal Communication by Nicole Dyer on Family Locket.
* Best Friends in the World (Wide Web) by Jacqi Stevens on A Family Tapestry.
* New Numbers For the Shared cM Project by Kitty Cooper on Kitty Cooper's Blog.
* DNA In a Time of Crisis by Judy G. Russelll on The Legal Genealogist.
* Bizarre Entries You Would Never Expect to See in the U.S. Census by Esther on MyHeritage Blog.
Here are pick posts by other geneabloggers this week:
