4)  NOTES (with source citations as indicated in brackets):

Abiel Ellice was born 15 October 1662 in Medfield, Massachusetts, the daughter of Thomas and Mary (Wight) Ellice[2].  The Medfield vital record book says:
"ELLISE, Abiell, d[aughter]. Thomas and Mary, Oct. 15, 1662"
Abiel Ellis married Zechariah Barber (1656-1705) on 30 August 1683 in Medfield[1]; he was the son of George and Elizabeth (Clarke) Barber.  The marriage record in the Medfield town vital record book says:
"ELLICE, Abiell and Zacharie Barber, Aug. 30, 1683"
They had nine children, all born and recorded in the Medfield vital records:

*  Benoni Barber (1684-1684)
*  Zechariah Barber (1685-1746), married 1717 Deborah Partridge (1694-1723).
*  Joseph Barber (1687-1770), married 1726 Abigail Hawes (1697-1776).
*  Abiel Barber (1691-1718), married 1708 Elkanah Haven (1685-1765).
*  John Barber (1693-1754).
*  Ruth Barber (1696-1761), married 1730 Henry Smith (1680-1743).
*  Thomas Barber (1698-1705).
*  Elizabeth Barber (1700-1722), married 1722 Jonathan Battle (1693-1727)
*  Mary Barber (1703-1756), married 1721 Edward Cole (1694-1724).

Abiel's father, Thomas Ellice (1629-1693) died on 12 December 1690 in Medfield, and her mother, Mary (Wight) Ellice (1638-1693) died on 7 March 1693.  In the intestate estate for Thomas Ellice, with administration granted to his son, Samuel Ellice, on 31 March 1692, a list of the children, heirs of Thomas and Mary (Wight) Ellice, includes the name of Abiel Barbur[3].

Zechariah Barber died on 11 August 1705 in Medfield, leaving seven children between the ages of 2 and 19.  Abiel and her children continued to live in the house.  Administration of his estate was not opened until 1709 when their eldest son was of age.  The administrator, eldest son Zechariah Barber, submitted his final account and was ordered to distribute the estate assets to his siblings on 17 December 1717, after Abiel died.

Abiel (Ellice) Barber died 14 April 1716 in Medfield, Massachusetts at age 53[4].  There is no known burial record or probate record for Abiel.

NOTE:  In 2014, Amy Johnson Crow suggested a weekly blog theme of "52 Ancestors" in her blog post  52 Ancestors in 52 Weeks on the No Story Too Small blog.  I have extended this theme in 2020 for a seventh year to 364 Ancestors in 364 Weeks.  The list of 52 Ancestors biographies from my great-grandparents to the 7th great-grandparents (in work) is in   https://www.geneamusings.com/p/ancestor-biographies.html.
