Treasure Chest Thursday -- 1794 Birth Record of Lambert Brigham (1794-1834) of Westborough, Massachusetts

It's Treasure Chest Tuesday - a chance to look in my digital image files to see what treasures I can find for my family history and genealogy musings.

The treasure today is the birth entry for Lambert Brigham (1794-1834) in the Westborough, Massachusetts town record book:

The Lambert Brigham birth entry is the last record in the Phinehas and Lydia Brigham family record on the left-hand page above:

The transcription of this record is:

"Lambert Brigham June 7'th 1794"

The source citation for this record is:

Massachusetts, Town and Vital Records, 1620-1988, indexed database and digital image, ( accessed 11 February 2014), "Westborough Births, Marriages and Deaths," page 193 (penned, image 316 of 1417), Lambert Brigham birth, 7 June 1794, son of Phinehas Brigham and Lydia.

This is a transcription of an original town record book for Westborough, Massachusetts, so it is a Derivative Source with Primary Information and Direct Evidence of the birth of Lambert Brigham and his parents' name. It was fairly common for Massachusetts town record books in this time frame to list all of the children for a couple in these books.
Lambert Brigham (1794-1834) was the son of Phinehas and Lydia (Batherick) Brigham of Westborough, Massachusetts.  He married Sophia Buck (17976-1882) as her first husband on 12 February 1817 in Sterling, Massachusetts.  Lambert and Sophia (Buck) Brigham are my 3rd great-grandparents, through their daughter Sophia Newton (1834-1923), who was born after Lambert had passed away in 1834; Sophia (Buck) Brigham married Thomas J. Newton in later 1834 and the daughter used the Newton name throughout her life.
