It's Treasure Chest Thursday - a chance to look in my digital image files to see what treasures I can find for my family history and genealogy musings.
The treasure today is the birth entry for Mehitable Grout (1726-1795) in the Watertown, Massachusetts town record book:The transcription of this record is:
"Mehetable Grout Daughter of Joseph & Mary Grout born the 5 of Feb'ry 1725/6"

This is a transcription of an original town record book for Watertown, Massachusetts, so it is a Derivative Source with Primary Information and Direct Evidence of the birth of Mehetable Grout and the names of her parents.
Mehitable Grout (1726-1795), was the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Harrington) Grout of Watertown. She married Moses Brigham (1723-1769), the son of Nathan and Dina (Rice) Brigham of Marlborough, in Westborough on 2 May 1749. They are my 5th great-grandparents, through their son Phineas Brigham (1755-1802) who married Lydia Bathrick (1752-1795) in 1779.
